In 2019, Muis issued a Fatwa that recognises the joint-tenancy contract as a religiously valid contract.
Hence, Muslims who purchase real property as joint tenants do not need an additional religious document (hibah ruqbah or nuzriah) as previously required under the 2008 Fatwa as the right of survivorship will apply.
